Our story
Founded by Paul Blane, Confident Competence offers providers a way to easily, accurately and authentically measure competence in real-life settings.
Since his first job as a care worker, Paul Blane has always believed competence is at the heart of great care. As a care home owner and CEO of Care Business Associate Training (CBAT) he has merged his two passions and developed an app-based competency platform.

Our aim is to help teams raise the quality of care for patients, residents and people who need support – to a consistently high standard. We see high-quality competency measurement as the way to achieve this. Our mission is to see this app being used across the UK and for it to be driving measurable impact for health and social care leaders.
